Yeah, I'm riding the struggle bus right now. I don't usually take that particular form of transportation, so it's a always a wild ride. Anxiety about ALL THE THINGS steals my joy and makes me want to sleep for a week or two. It's not just people unhinging before my eyes in my little neck of the woods either, it's seemingly worldwide. And just when I'm considering stepping away from my main, front-row seat to people losing their absolute minds, my fellow Bastropian, @RyanHoliday throws out another solid piece of advice that reels me back in.
Here's an excerpt of what Ryan Holiday said in a recent Threads post: “Don't let the future destroy the present. It pays to look ahead in the world of politics." ….. “Worry about the future is constant. That type of worry, though, spreads like a contagion to voters. People obsess about what will happen to them if the wrong candidate is elected. Some fixate on nightmare scenarios about the country descending into civil war. This grinding anxiety echoes Shakespeare's famous line from Julius Caesar. ‘A coward dies a thousand times, a hero dies but once.’ "
And, somehow I see that I'm not alone. People have faced these things throughout history, well, because WE ARE PEOPLE.
I hope this helps. It helped me today. Thanks Ryan!
Let's not die a thousand deaths.
